DANIEL J. “DAN” KENNEDY

HORNELL - Daniel J. "Dan" Kennedy, 66, of 316 1/2 Canisteo St., died unexpectedly on Wednesday (Oct. 27, 2004) at his home.

A native, and life resident of Hornell, he was born Aug. 19, 1938, and was the son of Thomas and Mary (Johnson) Kennedy.

Dan attended St. Ann's School, and was a graduate of Hornell High School (class of 1956). He was employed at the New York State Department of Transportation for over 37 years, retiring in October, 1993, as a principal engineering technician. He was a member of the Hornell VFW, and a former member of the Hornell Association. He enjoyed the outdoors, and in his younger years was an avid hunter and fisherman. He also enjoyed playing cards and spending time at his cottage at Keuka Lake.

Surviving are his daughter, Susan Kennedy of Hornell; his son, Thomas "TJ" (Tammy Johnson) Kennedy of Victorville, Calif.; his longtime friend and companion, Ellen "Skip" Sheroshick of Hornell; his sister, Mary Alice (Harry) King of Hamburg; three granddaughters, Nicole Sekoll, McKenna Kennedy and Breanna Harris; one grandson, Holden Kennedy; nieces and nephews.

Funeral arrangements were handling by Dagon Funeral Home, 38 Church St., Hornell.
