 SARASOTA, Florida - Dorothy Ann (Winters) Marvin, 78, passed away on Wednesday, March 10, 1999, in Sarasota, Florida. Raised in Hornell , she graduated from Hornell High School, Class of 1938, and went on to attend the Culver Beauty Academy in Rochester, New York. She worked for many years at Maher's Beauty Parlor in Hornell and later as a "comptometer operator" for the Erie Railroad.

On July 19, 1941, she married Lyle Francis Marvin, a recipient of the Purple Heart when wounded in the Battle of the Hurtgen Forest during World War II. Dorothy and Lyle were married for 58 years at the time of her passing. Lyle passed away in June 2010.

 Dorothy is survived by her sisters, Evelyn Marie Winters (Wood), HHS Class of 41 and Jean Lillian Winters (Emery), HHS Class of 49; her three children, Michael Marvin (wife, Barbara) living in Vermont; Linda (Marvin) Lapp (husband, Leland) living in Ohio; Karen (Marvin) Romari (husband, Neville) living in Australia; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

 Dorothy loved sewing, cooking, and gardening, a love she passed on to her children. She will be missed by all that knew her!
