NELLIE VET ACKERSHOEK

WAYNE, NEW JERSEY - Nellie Ackershoek (nee Vet) age 72 of Wayne died Monday, January 31, 2005 at home.

She was born in Paterson and lived in Clifton and Hornell, NY before moving to Wayne forty-three years ago.

Mrs. Ackershoek was employed by New Jersey Bell Telephone for eleven years.

She graduated from Hornell High School, Hornell, NY with the Class of 1949.

Tunis and Nellie where married for forty-three years and they had a “Beautiful Marriage Together”.

Nellie was a person who loved her family and was always there for them. Family came above all for her and she could best be described as selfless always deferring to her husband and children’s and grandchildren’s needs above her own. She was a wonderful loving Wife, Mother and Grandmother. Mom was also a wonderful cook and could be depended upon to provide well for her family.

Surviving are her husband of forty-three years Tunis Ackershoek of Wayne; two sons William T. Ackershoek and his wife Barbra of Sparta, Thomas N. Ackershoek and his wife Lisa of Pompton Plains; one daughter Patricia Contreras and her husband James of Fairfield; four brothers Casey Vet and his wife Wanda of Arlington, TX, Martin Vet and his wife Sue of Celina, TX, Marinus Vet and his wife Jean of Florida and Teunis Vet and his wife Vivian of Bonita Springs, FL; one sister Adriana Kunicky of Elmira, NY and eight grandchildren Taylor, Thomas, Alyssa, Amy, Emily and William Ackershoek, Michael and Marissa Contreras.

She was predeceased by one brother William Vet in 2002.
