Patricia "Patti" (Parks) Dobson

HORNELL, New York - Patricia A. "Patti" (Parks) Dobson, 57, of 125 Hornell St. went to meet the angels surrounded by her loving family after a long illness. A life-long resident of Hornell, Patti was a graduate of Hornell High School, Class of 1970.

She was preceded in death by her son, William "BJ" Dobson and her mother, Catherine Parks. Surviving are her son, Jeff (Vicky) Dobson of Almond, her daughter, Heidi Dobson of Almond, 2 grandchildren,  Brittney Dobson and Jeff Dobson, Jr. and a great-grandson, Michael Dobson all of Almond.

She was the daughter of Elmer and Catherine Parks of Hornell and sister to Bill Parks (Martha), Deborah Gray (Tom), John Parks (Lupe) Bridget Robinson (Bub) and Jim Parks (Paquita) and aunt to many nieces and nephews who loved her greatly. She loved her children, grandchildren and her dog, Alexis.  She thought the world of her great-grandson, Michael Dobson, who brought her great joy.

She loved music and especially enjoyed listening to the Beatles. Patti was employed as a teacher's asst. at GST BOCES, most recently at the North Hornell School.  She also worked at Updykes Nursing Facility and the Children's Home Daycare.

Patti was a loving, caring and proud mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend who was always there for the needs of others with her helping hands. She loved to laugh and and had a great sense of humor.

She will be sadly missed by everyone who knew her. Patti's family would like to thank all of her friends, too numerous to mention, that brought laughter and friendship to her life.  During her illness they were supportive and kind to her in her work day and personal life.  We are forever grateful to everyone who gave kindness to our sister.  Thank you.

In fulfillment of her wish to be united with her son and mother at their favorite place, Patti was cremated and her ashes were sprinkled at the lake in Chaffee, NY.

In lieu of an official obituary, the above tribute was graciously submitted by Patti's sister Deborah (Parks) Gray.
