Jeannine Anne (Baker) Powers

LOCKPORT - Jeannine Anne Powers (nee Baker) passed away June 8, 2001 after a long illness. Born in Hornell February 3, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Orange S. and May (Baker) Barrett.

She was the wife of Albert D. Powers; three children, Vicki (Nan) Powers, Thomas (Donna) Powers and Paul (Sherri) Powers; five grandchildren, Ronald Fogle, Jr., Deborah Fogle, Christopher Schaffer, Timothy Schaffer and Elizabeth Powers and two great-grandchildren, Heather and Mary Lynn Hilderbrandt, all of Lockport. Jeannine also leaves a special friend and excellent care giver, Donna Ripple.

She was a member of UAW Retirees Club, Travel Club and Pistol Club Secretary, a volunteer for the Lockport Tourism Office, a member of Grace Episcopal Church and a volunteer at their thrift shop. She was an avid reader and crossword puzzler.

Interment will be in Glenwood Cemetery.

Albert Duane Powers

LOCKPORT - Albert D. Powers passed away Monday (Feb. 12, 2007).

He was born Jan. 30, 1930, in Hornell. Albert was the only one of the four children to be born at home to Albert A. Powers and Cecile Mary Robertson Powers.

Albert is survived by three children, Vicki (Nan) Powers, Thomas (Donna) Powers and Paul (Sherri) Powers, all of Lockport; five grandchildren, Ronald Fogle, Deborah Fogle, Elizabeth Powers, Christopher Schaffer and Timothy Schaffer; two great-grandchildren, Heather Hilderbrandt and MaryLynn Hilderbrandt; an adopted granddaughter, Sarah Quintern; and two brothers, Gerald (Caroline) Powers of Almond and Gary (Sue) Powers of Hornell. Albert is predeceased by his parents; his sister, Helen Hendershott of Livonia; and his wife of 51 years, Jeannine Anne Baker Powers in June of 2001.

Albert was a 1948 graduate of Hornell High School. He was a member of the UAW 686 Unit 1 retirees, he retired from General Motors Harrison Div after 34 years in 1986, he was a 27-year veteran of the New York State National Guard, past president of the UAW 686 C.B. Club, vice-president and range officer of the UAW 686 Pistol Club, past member of the Lockport Tourism Volunteers, past Grace Church Thrift Shop Volunteer, past member of the Loyal Order of Moose in Medina and past member of the UAW Travel Club. He was also past treasurer of the Pioneer Club, past member of the Niagara County Conservation Club, and an avid hunter and reader.

Relatives and friends may call from 7-9 p.m. today and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday at the Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., Lockport, where prayers will be offered at 10:30 a.m. Friday, followed by funeral services at 11 a.m. in Grace Episcopal Church, 100 Genesee St., Lockport, with Rev. Hill officiating. Entombment will be in Glenwood Mausoleum, 325 Glenwood Ave., Lockport.
