EARLE W. HOUGHTALING, JR.

HORNELL -- Earle W. Houghtaling Jr., 36, died suddenly Wednesday (June 6, 2001) at his home at 6290 County Route 29.

Born in Hornell on Dec. 15, 1964, he was a son of Earle W. and Elsie Lantz Houghtaling.

A resident of the Hornell area for most of his life, Earle attended Hornell High School.

He was formerly employed as a welder for the Foster-Wheeler Energy Corp. in Dansville and for Morrison-Knudsen in Hornell. He was presently self-employed as a contractor.

Earle enjoyed race car driving, hunting and motorcycles, but most of all, he loved his children.

Besides his parents, Earle and Elsie of Hornell, his family includes his wife, Cathy; his children, Nicole of Oxford, Wesley, Tyler, Travis and Miranda, all at home; his sister, Tina (Joe) Jackson of Hornell; his brother, Robert (Lois) Houghtaling of Hornell; his maternal grandmother, Elsie Lantz of Hornell; and his nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

He was predeceased by his son, Earle Houghtaling III; his paternal grandmother, Elma Greene; and his maternal grandfather, Ludwig Lantz.

Interment was at the Greenwood Cemetery.
