Eugene C. "Beef" Stillman

ARKPORT  - Eugene C. "Beef" Stillman, 57, of 10 Sullivan St., died Thursday, (July 9,1992) shortly after arrival at St. James Mercy Hospital in Hornell. 

Born October 28, 1934, in Salem, West Virginia., he was the son of Albert C. and Roberta Flynn Stillman. His devoted wife, Barbara Stillman, survives. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by one sister, Roberta Conway, in 1975. 

He had resided in the Hornell/Arkport area since 1939 and was a 1954 graduate of Hornell High School. He was a well-known bartender in Hornell, bartending most of his life. He was employed for 20 years at the former Big Elms Restaurant and at the time of his death, was a bartender at the Windows on the Green. He was a member of the Hornell Elks Lodge and the Hornell Association.

 Beef will always be remembered for his special love for his family and friends and for his gentle kindness to all he met.

 In addition to his wife, survivors include three daughters, Heather Stillman of Maryland, Bridgette Smith of Arkport, and Kelli Keller of Maryland; one son, Sean Stillman of Hornell; one sister, Virginia Hunt of Greenwood;  two brothers, Pierre (Peter) Stillman of Long Island and Jack Stillman of Hornell;  six grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

 Burial was in the Arkport Cemetery, Arkport, New York.
