LADY LAKE, FLORIDA
– Eugene L. Wing, 70, died on October 31, 1988 in Lady Lake, Florida
after a long illness.
Born in Hornell on October 4, 1918, Eugene remained there until
1984 when moving to Fort Collins, Colorado. He eventually moved to
Lady Lake, Florida in 1986 where he lived for the remainder of his
Eugene was predeceased by a daughter, Diane Wing Root, who died in
1963, and survived by his wife, Gertrude Christena McMindes Wing
(who eventually passed away in 2002), four sons, Eugene (Sandy) Wing, David
(Beverly) Wing, Roger (Carol) Wing, Phillip (Johanna) Wing, two
daughters, Katherine (James) Spahn, Patricia (David) Dailey and
numerous grand children.
A 1937 graduate of Hornell High School, Eugene worked for
the Erie Railroad for many years in addition to being an avid
bowler, member of the Eagles Club, and someone who fixed televisions
and other electronic devices as a hobby. He was a great Dad and
Grandpa to his many children and grand children!
Eugene was interned in the Rural Cemetery in Hornell.
