ST PETERSBURG, FL – Harold F. Heers,  65, formerly of 76 East Main Street, died Sunday (Mar. 9, 1986) at the Bay Pines Veterans Hospital, Bay Pines, Florida.

Born in Hornell, Oct. 4, 1920, son of Harold and Cecil Heers, he had resided in Hornell until 1968 when he relocated to St. Petersburg, Florida.  He was a graduate of Hornell High School, class of 1938. He served in the US Army during World War II.

Harold was employed for the Erie Lackawanna Railroad as a brake inspector and short-order cook on the wrecking crew; and in later years, as a freelance carpenter until retirement.

He was survived by his wife of 44 years, Audrey McMichael Heers (deceased Feb, ’05).  He is survived by four sons, Roger (Betty) Heers, Jacksonville, FL; Richard (Judy) Heers, Immokalee, FL; Darryl (Patricia) Heers of Phelps, NY; David (Amy) Heers, St. Petersburg FL; three daughters, Sandy (Bill) Hall, St. Petersburg Beach, FL; Susan (Marvin) Drake of Canisteo, NY; Debbie (Larry) Gluck of Cape Coral, FL; one brother, Roger (Marilyn) Heers of Hornell; one sister-in-law Ruth McMichael Shaw of Almond, NY; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Harold was a former member of the Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church in North Hornell and Suncoast Cathedral in St. Petersburg, Florida.  He will be remembered for his commitment to God, and to his family.
