Richard H. Peck
(1921 - 2007)







HORNELL - Richard H. Peck, 85, formerly of Grand Street, passed away Thursday (June 28, 2007) at the Hornell Gardens.

 Born in Hornell, Dec. 1, 1921, the son of Norris K. and Josephine Clark Peck, he had resided in Hornell all his life. He was a graduate of Hornell High School, Class of 1941, and served six years in the United States Navy. He was stationed in the Pacific as a member of a three-man bomber squad. Dick was proud he was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross while serving in the U.S. Navy.

He retired as a captain from the Hornell Fire Department following 25 years of service. Dick was a member of the Glad Tidings Assembly of God in North Hornell.

On Feb. 6, 1943, he married the former Beverly Woolever, who survives. He was predeceased by his parents, one sister, June McWhirter; one brother, Raymond Peck; his daughter, Linda Cotton; and his granddaughter, Shari Peck.

He is survived by his wife, Beverly; two daughters, Robin (John) Bedson of Livonia and Nancy Daniels of Hornell; two sons, Richard (Susan) Peck of Wellsville and Donald Peck of Rochester; one sister, Jeanne Donahey of Orange, Texas; eight grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
